| Reverse description | A cluster of nine vividly colored red poppies with dark centres occupies the right portion of the design, rendered in color application over the polished gold field. The left portion features strands of barbed wire stretching horizontally across the field, evoking the imagery of the Western Front. The commemorative legend arcs across the upper field and the face value appears in the lower portion. The composition powerfully references the iconic symbol of Remembrance Day. |

| Additional information |
Alderney, a Crown dependency not part of the UK but under the British Crown, has issued commemorative coinage since 1993 — largely as a revenue vehicle, with pieces carrying face values no one would spend. This 2019 Remembrance issue joins a long line of such productions, timed to the centenary aftermath of WWI commemorations that ran from 2014 through 2018 and tapered into 2019.
The .916 fineness is standard 22-carat crown gold, the same alloy used for sovereigns since the recoinage of 1817.
