The quartered shield displays the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure), and Ireland (a harp), surmounted by the Royal Crown. The shield is supported to the dexter by a crowned lion guardant rampant and to the sinister by a unicorn rampant chained and gorged with a coronet. A garter belt bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE encircles the shield, and a scroll beneath bears the royal motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. The date 2013 appears in the lower exergue, with the engraver's initials JB visible to the right. |
