| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a dynamic commemorative composition marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. The bold inscription D-DAY dominates the upper field, beneath which Allied soldiers are depicted storming a beach under fire, rendered in detailed relief, with parachutists descending from the upper field against an open sky. The names of the five Normandy landing beaches — UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD — are inscribed in an arc along the left periphery. The date 1944 appears prominently in the lower central field, with JUNE 6 inscribed directly below. |

Pitcairn Islands issues currency under a licensing arrangement with foreign mints — the island's actual population has hovered around 40 to 50 people for decades, and no coins circulate there in any practical sense. This piece is a commemorative product aimed squarely at the collector market, with "Attack" in the title almost certainly referencing the infamous 1790 mutiny on HMS Bounty and the subsequent violent founding of the Pitcairn settlement by Fletcher Christian's party.
KM#142 places this late in a long run of similar Pitcairn collector issues, most struck by the Pobjoy Mint under contract.
