| Opmerkingen |
Bank of Scotland issued this note in partnership with BBC Children in Need, one of a handful of Scottish commemorative polymer issues from this period. De La Rue's Gateshead facility — formerly the Mantis/Camelot security print operation absorbed into De La Rue — handled production, making it an early example of domestically produced Scottish polymer currency rather than an overseas commission.
Collector demand on release was immediate and heavy. The note is legal tender in Scotland but, like all Bank of Scotland issues, was never technically legal tender in England — a distinction that rarely stops English retailers refusing Scottish notes regardless of denomination or occasion.
