| Obverse description | The obverse features a central circular cartouche enclosing the denomination numeral '٥' (5) above the Arabic inscription 'جنيهات' (Pounds), with the dual Hijri and Gregorian date '١٤١١ ـ ١٩٩٠' below. Surrounding the cartouche in the lower field is a bold flowing calligraphic legend reading 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt), rendered in an ornate Thuluth script style.
