The Central Bank of Sudan responded with a series of new issues designed to signal institutional continuity even as the economy contracted sharply — inflation reached triple digits within two years of the split. Printed domestically at the Sudan Currency Printing Press, a facility established with support from the German firm Giesecke & Devrient.
