表面の説明 Rose and pink tones dominate the obverse, with a central vignette combining a traditional Nubian architectural motif, a communication satellite, and a circular solar-disc element set against a fine guilloche underprint. The numeral '٥' appears in large format at upper left and lower right within ornate cartouches, while a scales-of-justice emblem is positioned at the upper left margin. The issuer's name in Arabic script is printed across the top band, with the denomination in Arabic text at the lower centre and the Governor's signature with title below at left.

裏面の説明 The reverse is printed in rose and pink hues and carries a central vignette of a large dam with water cascading through its gates, flanked on the left by a high-voltage electricity transmission tower and on the right by a wind turbine and a solar panel array, evoking Sudan's energy infrastructure. The English inscription 'CENTRAL BANK OF SUDAN' runs across the top guilloche band, with a scales-of-justice emblem at the upper right. The denomination 'FIVE SUDANESE POUNDS' and the large numeral '5' appear at the lower right, with 'Legal Tender Banknote' printed vertically at the left margin and the date 'July 9 2006' at the lower right.

By 2006, Sudan's currency printing had been fully repatriated to Khartoum — the Sudan Currency Printing Press, established in the 1990s, handling production entirely without the foreign contractors that had supplied earlier series. Domestic printing gave the government direct control over issuance timing, a significant political priority during the extended international sanctions period that made contracting with European security printers increasingly difficult.

The security package — watermark and thread only — is modest by contemporary standards, reflecting the technical ceiling of domestic production at the time.
