| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in purple and green on white paper, with an elaborate guilloche underprint framing the central design elements. At upper centre, the Fijian coat of arms is engraved above the issuer inscription 'GOVERNMENT OF FIJI', with the legal tender clause and denomination 'FIVE POUNDS' in bold letterpress below. To the right, an intaglio portrait vignette of King George V in military uniform is rendered in green, while a large blank circular watermark area occupies the left field; the serial number appears at upper left and lower left, with three manuscript signatures and the date at lower centre. |
