The denomination numeral 5 appears in elaborate quatrefoil frames at both upper corners, while lower-left and lower-right vignettes depict equestrian statues beside classical architectural backdrops; the note bears a manuscript date of 2nd April 1867 to the upper right and is overprinted SPECIMEN.
