| 背面描述 | The reverse features a complex geometric design composed of radiating diagonal bands in gold-colored enamel arranged in a triangular sunburst pattern against the coin's field, evoking the rays of the Philippine flag's sun. Concentric spiral bands of incuse Latin text encircle a central medallion bearing the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas eagle logo, with the date '2023' inscribed below the emblem. The spiraling text reproduces verses from the Philippine national anthem 'Lupang Hinirang' in Filipino. The legend '125TH ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE AND NATIONHOOD' arcs along the upper border, while 'BANGKO SENTRAL NG PILIPINAS' appears along the lower rim. |

The "Independence" series 5 Piso was issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as part of a broader commemorative program marking the 125th anniversary of Philippine independence from Spain, declared on June 12, 1898 in Kawit, Cavite by Emilio Aguinaldo. Nordic gold — an aluminum-bronze alloy developed by the Swedish firm Nordic Gold AB — was chosen for its resistance to counterfeiting and its distinctive warm color, the same alloy used in euro-zone 10, 20, and 50 cent coins.
