Reverse description The reverse displays a quartered heraldic shield occupying the central field, bearing the arms associated with the Oberamt (district) of Oberndorf: the upper-left quarter features a diagonal fusily pattern, the upper-right quarter bears a stylized orb or sceptre device, and the lower quarter depicts a rampant lion. The date '1918' is inscribed in the upper field above the shield, flanked by small decorative stops. The inscription 'KRIEGS GELD' (war money) is arranged in two words along the lower-left and lower-right flanks of the shield respectively, reading across the field. The composition is flat and deeply struck, in keeping with the austere aesthetic of First World War German notgeld.
