| 背面描述 | Within a beaded border, the municipal coat of arms of Ichenhausen is displayed centrally, comprising a divided heraldic shield: the dexter (left) field bears a rampant lion on a vertically striped background, the sinister (right) field is quartered with three small lions above and a diagonal fess pattern below. The shield is surmounted by a mural crown with five visible battlements, giving the design an official civic character. The field surrounding the arms is plain and unlettered. |

Ichenhausen is a small Swabian town that would have had no business striking its own coinage under normal circumstances. By 1917, the wartime drain on copper and nickel had forced hundreds of German municipalities — most of them equally obscure — to issue zinc or iron notgeld simply to keep small transactions functioning. The imperial government had sanctioned the practice out of necessity, not design.
The two Funck varieties suggest at least one die revision during the issue's production run, a detail worth tracking for type collectors.
