背面描述 Central vignette of a classical Liberty head facing right, enclosed within a circular guilloche border bearing the issuer inscription. The design is executed in a single dark ink with elaborate lathe-work panels extending symmetrically to either side, each filled with repeating numeral '5' motifs. A lower panel carries the 'CERTIFICADO DE PLATA' legend, with the American Bank Note Company imprint along the bottom margin.

备注

Colombia's Banco de la República turned to the American Bank Note Company for much of its mid-century production, and this 5 Pesos Plata falls squarely within that long-running relationship. The "Plata" designation — silver pesos — was a formal accounting distinction that had little practical meaning by 1941; Colombia had abandoned the gold standard in 1931 and silver convertibility was equally theoretical by this point.

Pick 388 is not rare in circulated grades, but genuinely uncirculated examples show significant foxing along the margins, a known issue with the paper stock used by ABNC on Colombian contracts during the early 1940s.
