| Obverse description | Central device features the Honduran coat of arms, comprising a triangular cartouche enclosing a volcanic landscape with a rising sun, flanked by twin towers issuing from the sea, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon bearing a small cross at the base. The entire device is surmounted by a mural crown. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS arcs around the upper portion of the arms, with the date 1871 appearing in the lower field within the central cartouche.
