正面描述 The full coat of arms of Uruguay occupies the central field, featuring an oval shield quartered with scales of justice, a fortified hill, an ox, and a horse, surmounted by a radiant rising sun. The shield is flanked by crossed flags and cannons and encircled by a laurel and olive wreath. The circular legend REPUBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border. A single five-pointed star appears at the bottom of the field, below the arms.

附加信息

This 1870 pattern was produced as Uruguay evaluated a gold coinage system during a period of significant monetary reorganization following the country's adoption of the peso as its official currency unit. Patterns of this type were struck in very small numbers — almost certainly for ministerial approval rather than public release — and most known survivors trace back to official or diplomatic sources rather than circulation.

Fr#3 in Friedberg's gold census places this among the earliest Uruguayan gold pattern issues. The KM#PnA29 designation confirms it never progressed to a regular mint run.
