Surrounding the central device, ten historical renditions of the Mexican coat of arms are arranged in a ring, illustrating the evolution of the national symbol through successive constitutional periods. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS runs along the upper portion of the inner border. The design is struck in proof finish, with deeply mirrored fields contrasting against frosted relief elements. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a detailed high-relief depiction of El Caracol (The Observatory), the ancient Maya circular tower at Chichén Itzá, Yucatán, Mexico, rendered with careful attention to its characteristic tiered stone masonry and rounded summit. The legend CHICHÉN ITZÁ arcs along the upper border, while OBSERVATORIO is inscribed in the lower exergue.
