The denomination $5 appears to the left of the portrait and the mint mark Mo with the date 2010 to the right. The legend MIGUEL HIDALGO Y COSTILLA curves along the lower portion of the centre. The stainless steel ring carries the commemorative legend BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA arcing along the upper periphery, with MÉXICO 2010 inscribed along the lower arc, separated by small circular ornaments.
