The denomination '$5' appears to the left of the bust and the mint mark 'Mo' with the date '2008' to the right. The stainless steel ring carries the commemorative legend 'BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA' along the upper arc, with 'MÉXICO 2010' prominently displayed along the lower arc, marking the bicentennial of Mexican independence.
