| Beschrijving keerzijde | A Cuban Volanta coach, a traditional two-wheeled horse-drawn carriage, is depicted in left-facing profile as the central design element. The curved legend 'MEDIOS DE TRANSPORTE' arcs along the upper periphery, identifying the commemorative series dedicated to historical means of transport. The vehicle name 'LA VOLANTA CUBANA' is inscribed in a curved legend along the lower border, while the issue date '1984' appears in the lower right field alongside the mintmark. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Cuba's volanta series was part of a broader hard-currency export program the Castro government ran through the 1980s, producing collector coins sold internationally for foreign exchange while domestic Cubans had no legal access to them. The volanta itself — a two-wheeled horse-drawn carriage — was the defining vehicle of 19th-century Havana aristocracy, operated by a postilion rider rather than a coachman, a configuration unique to the island.
Two JMA reference numbers assigned to this type suggest at least one recognized variety exists, likely distinguishing proof from specimen strikings rather than a die difference.
