These provincial guerrilla currencies were sanctioned under broad wartime authority and backed — nominally — by the Philippine National Bank, though the PNB's own operations were severely compromised during the occupation. The three-signature format here reflects the committee's administrative structure: local civilian and banking officials co-signing to lend whatever institutional credibility the circumstances allowed.

Survival rates for Misamis Occidental issues vary considerably by denomination. The Japanese military administration actively suppressed guerrilla currencies, and holders faced real risk in keeping them.
