The central text reads 'THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL BANK WILL PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND' above the large bold denomination 'FIVE PESOS' in intaglio-style letterpress, flanked by a large roman numeral 'V' at left and numeral '5' corner devices.
