At upper left, a denomination cartouche reads '5 Pesos' alongside a small vignette of the Buenos Aires coat of arms within a laurel wreath; the central field carries the bank's name 'El Banco de Buenos Ayres' in ornate calligraphic script. The bearer clause 'Promete pagar al portador y á la vista la cantidad de CINCO PESOS en moneda metálica' is set in a combination of letterpress and copperplate engraving, with a note number in the upper right corner and manuscript signatures for the Contador and Presidente at the foot.
