| Obverse description | Central field features a stylised royal hand (hasta) in relief, upon which rests the royal crown of Nepal rendered in fine detail, symbolising the coronation. The design is framed within a rectangular geometric border with stepped corner ornaments and a beaded outer ring. A circular Devanagari legend surrounds the central motif, reading the auspicious coronation inscription of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The Bikram Sambat date 2031 appears in Devanagari numerals at the base of the design within the outer border. |

A scalloped or lotus-petal outer border frames the design, with a Devanagari circular legend invoking the names of Gorakhnath and Bhavani distributed around the periphery, separated by dot ornaments. |
