| Reverse description | A faithful low-relief reproduction of a carved stone panel from the pre-Columbian site of El Tajín, Veracruz, fills a D-shaped inner frame. The intricate Totonac design features a central frontal deity mask flanked by reclining ritual figures and elaborate serpentine scrollwork arranged in horizontal registers, rendered with fine incuse detail. The date 1993 and the mint mark Mo appear within the upper register of the panel. The legend BAJORRELIEVE DE EL TAJIN is incused along the lower margin of the inner frame, with the denomination N$5 struck in the exergue below the frame. The entire composition is enclosed by the same ornate stepped-fret decorative border as the obverse. |
