Reverse description Central square hole flanked by four characters reading right-to-left and top-to-bottom. The mint mark 統 (Tong, denoting the Tongyong Naval Office in Seoul) appears at the right, the denomination indicator 五 (5) at the left, 當 (value equivalent) at the top, and the series number in Chinese numerals at the bottom. The illustrated example bears the series number 十四 (14) at the bottom, identifying the specific casting series. All characters are rendered in regular script within a plain circular field with a simple raised border.
