| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole. Reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left, the four-character legend 常平通寶 (Sangpyong Tongbo) occupies the cardinal positions: 常 (Sang) above, 平 (Pyong) below, 通 (Tong) to the right, and 寶 (Bo) to the left. The characters are rendered in standard script (kaishu) in relief against a flat, unadorned field. The outer rim is plain and slightly raised, consistent with the traditional Korean cast cash coin format of the Joseon dynasty. |

The character 春 (Chun), denoting the Chuncheon Township Military Office, appears at the top. To the right, the denomination indicator 當五 (Dang O, meaning 'value of 5') is inscribed. At the bottom, the series number 十一 (Sib Il, Series 11) identifies this particular emission within the Chuncheon minting sequence. The characters are cast in relief in standard kaishu script against a plain field, following the established conventions of late Joseon dynasty cash coinage. |
