Reverse description Central square hole flanked by four characters in cruciform arrangement: the mint mark 沁 (Sim, denoting the Kanghwa Township Military Office) appears at the top, the series number 六 (6) at the bottom, and the denomination characters 當五 (Dang O, meaning 'worth 5') read right to left across the center. This reverse layout follows the standard Joseon cash coin convention of identifying the issuing mint, the series batch, and the face value. Characters are cast in raised relief in regular script against a plain field. The curved form of the 沁 mint mark distinguishes this variety from the straight-Sim type.
