Obverse description Central device depicts the Estonian coat of arms comprising three leopard-lions passant in pale, arranged vertically one above the other within the field, rendered in bold relief after the heraldic tradition. The date of issue is split across the field, with '19' to the left and '24' to the right of the central armorial design. The coin is bordered by a continuous inner ring of raised beads, with a plain raised rim encircling the whole. No legend appears on this face; the design is restrained and heraldically precise in execution.

Reverse description The denomination numeral '5' is prominently displayed in large, bold relief at the centre of the field, with the denomination word 'MARKA' inscribed below in capital letters. The circular legend 'EESTI VABARIIK' (Republic of Estonia) arcs around the upper portion of the field, flanked on either side by small four-pointed star ornaments. A single small star ornament appears at the base of the inner border. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous raised bead border, lending a neat, formal appearance to the reverse.
