The denomination FÜNF MARK is printed in large bold capitals across the centre, above the issue date and place. The four corners each bear the numeral '5' with 'Mark' beneath, while the lateral borders carry fine wavy guilloche bands. At the foot, two signature lines appear beneath the authority designations 'Der Magistrat' and 'Das Bürgervorsteherkollegium', with a serial number in the upper right. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Printed in blue and black on plain paper, the reverse carries a central cartouche with a rosette-and-guilloche underprint bearing the denomination '5 FÜNF MARK 5' flanked by 'MARK' on each side. The issuer's name 'STADT ALFELD (LEINE).' is set in bold at the top, with a serial number to the upper right. Below the central vignette, a block of German text in Fraktur-style type states the redemption conditions, specifying the deadline of 1 February 1919. Decorative fan and foliate corner ornaments frame a simple ruled border, and the printer's imprint 'J. C. KÖNIG & EBHARDT IN HANNOVER' appears at the foot. |
