| Obverse description | Blue and black letterpress note with a central vignette of the Alfeld municipal coat of arms — two rampant lions flanking a crowned sword and anchor device — set against an elaborate guilloche underprint. The denomination FÜNF MARK is printed in large bold capitals across the centre, above the issue date and place. The four corners each bear the numeral '5' with 'Mark' beneath, while the lateral borders carry fine wavy guilloche bands. At the foot, two signature lines appear beneath the authority designations 'Der Magistrat' and 'Das Bürgervorsteherkollegium', with a serial number in the upper right. |
