| Obverse description | Cream-toned note with a fine guilloche underprint centred on a large oval rosette motif. The issuer title 'Stadtgemeinde Bamberg' is set in Gothic blackletter script at the top, followed by 'Gutschein No.' with a red typeset serial number at right. The denomination 'Fünf Mark' is rendered in large ornate script across the centre, with the date line 'Bamberg, im Kriegsjahr 1918' below. At lower left appears the Oberbürgermeister's manuscript signature under the label 'Stadtmagistrat', while two further manuscript signatures appear at lower right under 'Koll. d. Stadtgem.-Bevollm.'; a circular embossed stamp is visible at right centre. |
