The legend AZƏRBAYCAN RESPUBLİKASI arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 MANAT appears in the lower exergue, both rendered in raised Latin characters against a polished field.

The district's administrative center had been under occupation for nearly three decades before falling to Azerbaijani troops on October 9, 2020 — less than two weeks into the conflict.
