At center, a large circular medallion carries a bust of Italia Turrita surmounted by a star; the medallion frame incorporates four subsidiary circles, each ornamented with a star and the numeral 5, enclosing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Italy impaled with those of Turin, Florence, Venice, and Sicily. Corner cartouches bear stars and the repeated legend 5 CINQUE. The creation date and anti-counterfeiting legal text, set vertically into and around the word LIRE, appear at center left and center right. |
