| Aanvullende informatie |
Petko Rachov Slaveikov was a 19th-century Bulgarian poet and revolutionary whose work bridged the National Revival period and the post-Liberation literary scene. This coin was issued the year before the centenary of Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman rule — the 1878 Treaty of San Stefano being the obvious political backdrop for the BNB's commemorative program in this period. The .500 fine silver content reflects Bulgaria's pragmatic approach to commemorative coinage in the late Soviet era, when full silver issues were reserved for higher-denomination pieces in the same series.
