Bagrat III, who died in 1014, is credited with unifying the Georgian kingdoms into a single consolidated monarchy — a political achievement that defined the country's medieval trajectory for centuries. His reign marked the first time Abkhazia, Kartli, Kakheti, and parts of Armenia fell under a single Georgian crown.
This is part of Georgia's ongoing commemorative silver program, which the National Bank has used since the 1990s to systematically document national historical figures largely unknown outside the South Caucasus.
