| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a bold full-length figure of Arminius, Prince of the Cherusci, rendered in a dynamic martial pose at centre-right of the field. He is depicted wearing a plumed helmet, segmented armour, scale-fringed skirt, and sandalled greaves, brandishing a short sword in his right hand and raising an ornate shield aloft in his left. The upper legend 2000 JAHRE VARUSSCHLACHT curves along the top periphery, while the inscription ARMINIUS / FÜRST DER / CHERUSKER appears in three lines to the left of the figure. The date range 9 A.D. - 2009 A.D. is inscribed along the lower rim, commemorating the bimillennial anniversary of the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. |
