He is depicted wearing a plumed helmet, segmented armour, scale-fringed skirt, and sandalled greaves, brandishing a short sword in his right hand and raising an ornate shield aloft in his left. The upper legend 2000 JAHRE VARUSSCHLACHT curves along the top periphery, while the inscription ARMINIUS / FÜRST DER / CHERUSKER appears in three lines to the left of the figure.
