To the upper right of the tughra appears the honorific epithet 'el-Ghazi' (the Victorious) in Arabic script. The regnal year number appears in Arabic-Eastern numerals below the tughra. The entire design is enclosed within a distinctive scalloped or lobed inner border, surrounded by a beaded outer border interspersed with five-pointed stars and small floral ornaments, typical of late Ottoman milled coinage. |
