| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed portrait of King Christian IX of Denmark in uniform with decorations, set within a rectangular vignette at left, flanked by ornate guilloche rosettes at each corner and the numeral 5 at lower left. A crown vignette appears at upper left above the bank title ÍSLANDS BANKI in bold letterpress across the top, with the denomination FIMM KRÓNUR on a central pink guilloche panel.
