Obverse description Right-facing effigy of King Frederik IX, rendered in high relief with a plain truncation. The encircling legend reads FREDERIK IX KONGE AF DANMARK along the periphery. Beneath the portrait, the mintmark and the mint master's initials appear — either C♥S or S♥S depending on the year of issue — identifying the Copenhagen Mint officer responsible for that striking.
