Opmerkingen

In the chaotic months following the collapse of Austria-Hungary, dozens of Hungarian municipalities issued their own emergency paper money — Pécs among the more prolific. This particular issue came during the Serbian military occupation of the city, which lasted from November 1918 until August 1921, a period in which normal currency supply from Budapest was effectively severed. The municipal government continued functioning under occupation and issued these notes to keep local commerce moving.

The .2 subvariant in the Adamo listing typically indicates a distinguishing detail in the serial numbering or stamp placement — worth comparing against the .1 carefully before cataloging.
