| Obverse description | The obverse features a multi-figured ceremonial composition depicting the traditional Ukrainian wedding custom of a newly-married couple being received by their parents, who hold an icon and a ritual wedding bread (korovai). Above this scene, in the upper field, appears an image of the Protection of the Virgin (Pokrova). A semicircular Cyrillic legend ПОКРОВА is inscribed to the right of the central composition, referencing the feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos. The overall design is rendered in a refined relief characteristic of Ukrainian commemorative coinage. |
