Reverse description The reverse displays the small National Emblem of Ukraine (tryzub) prominently positioned in the upper field. The legend УКРАЇНА is inscribed in conventionalized Cossack script, echoing the stylistic treatment of the obverse. The raised surface of the reverse is designed to evoke the strings of a bandura, with decorative Baroque ornamentation incorporating a transcription of a traditional Ukrainian song. In the lower field, the date 2003 and the denomination inscription 5 ГРИВЕНЬ are inscribed, accompanied by the mintmark logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Banknote Printing and Minting Works.
