The central text panel, printed in Dutch, bears the issuer's name 'DE SURINAAMSCHE BANK' at the top, followed by the payable clause 'te Paramaribo betaalt aan toonder' and the denomination 'Vijf Gulden' in ornate Gothic script, with a note of exchange hours below. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower left and right, identified by the titles 'Directeur' and 'Directeur-Voorzitter', with a printed date and the printer's imprint 'Uitgev. bij Joh. Enschedé & Zonen' at the foot. |

The serial number appears three times in Cyrillic-style 'No' notation, positioned at the upper left, upper right, and bottom centre of the design. |
