| Reverse description | The denomination is prominently expressed in the central field through the large Arabic-Indic numeral ٥ (five) rendered in bold relief, flanked on either side by six-pointed stars. The Arabic word غروش (girush/piastres) is inscribed in large cursive script occupying the lower portion of the field. A curved legend along the upper arc reads PIASTRES 5 SYRIENNES in Latin characters. The word ESSAI appears in small capitals near the lower right of the field, identifying this piece as a pattern strike. The scalloped rim mirrors that of the obverse. |
