| 背面描述 | Printed in brown on an uncolored ground, the reverse is framed by an intricate guilloche border with scroll ornaments at each corner and large numeral "5" counters at left and right. A finely engraved panoramic vignette of Charlotte Amalie harbour, with the town and hillside of St. Thomas stretching across the centre-right of the note, dominates the design. Bilingual legends in Danish and English above and below the vignette state the note's payability in Europe at the Copenhagen office of the bank. |

| 备注 |
Den Dansk-Vestindiske Nationalbank issued this note for circulation across the Danish West Indies — the islands that would become the U.S. Virgin Islands following the 1917 sale to the United States for $25 million in gold. The Nationalbank itself was a colonial institution operating under close oversight from Copenhagen, and the currency it issued had to function across an economy split between Danish administrative practice and a predominantly English-speaking, dollar-adjacent trade environment.
Bradbury Wilkinson printed the series from their New Malden works. The "St. Thomas" designation reflects the island that served as the commercial hub of the group, home to the bank's principal office.
