| Obverse description | Central field features a group of traditional weapons arranged in a decorative composition: a curved jambiya dagger with an ornately decorated scabbard, a bow and arrow, and a flintlock pistol with powder horn. The Arabic legend surrounds the design in two registers, naming the Sultan Said Ali bin Said Omar of Anjouan and invoking divine protection, with the Hijri date ١٣٠٨ (1308 AH) appearing prominently in the lower central field. The entire design is enclosed within a fine beaded border. |
