Descrizione del dritto	Black intaglio print on white paper. A central oval vignette contains a bust portrait of Grand Duchess Charlotte wearing a tiara and pearl necklace, set within an elaborate guilloche frame flanked by large numeral "5" rosettes at left and right. The title "GRAND-DUCHÉ DE LUXEMBOURG" appears at the top, with "CINQ FRANCS" in a decorative panel at the bottom, below which a two-line anti-counterfeiting warning legend is inscribed; the Luxembourg State arms appear at lower left, and the imprint "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY" is printed at the foot of the note.

Descrizione del rovescio	Printed entirely in carmine-red on white paper. The central vignette presents the crowned Grand Ducal coat of arms of Luxembourg within an ornate cartouche, flanked symmetrically by two large guilloche rosettes each bearing the numeral "5"; smaller "5" numerals occupy all four corners. "LETZEBURG" appears in a curved banner at the top, and "FENNEF FRANG" is set in a decorative panel at the bottom, with the imprint "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY" at the foot.
