| Opis awersu | The obverse features the country name 'ARUBA' inscribed in large letters along the upper field, with the denomination '5 FLORIN' displayed prominently in the center. The date of issue appears to the left of the denomination. The Aruban coat of arms, depicting a quartered shield with a wreath of laurel branches, is positioned to the right of the denomination within a rectangular frame formed by two horizontal lines that traverse the coin's field. Mint marks appear adjacent to the coat of arms. |

Aruba's florin coinage is issued by the Centrale Bank van Aruba, which has operated independently since the island's separation from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986 — a political status known as Status Aparte that gave Aruba its own currency but kept it within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Willem-Alexander's effigy replaced that of his mother Beatrix following her abdication in April 2013, making 2014 the first full year of his reign to appear on Aruban coinage.
