Reverse description A detailed frontal depiction of the Ishtar Gate of ancient Babylon occupies the central field, rendered with its characteristic crenellated towers and rows of relief animals — including bulls and dragons (mušḫuššu) — decorating the facade. The monumental gateway is shown with its arched entrance flanked by two towers of roughly equal height, conveying the grandeur of the ancient structure. The Hijri date '١٤٠٢هـ' and the Gregorian date '١٩٨٢م' appear in the upper field to either side of the gate. The scalloped border frames the composition, emphasizing the commemorative character of the issue.
